Charles Abromovic, piano

CHARLES ABRAMOVIC is a Professor of Keyboard Studies at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music in Philadelphia where he has taught since 1988. Mr. Abramovic performs regularly with such artists as Midori, Sarah Chang, Robert McDuffie, Viktoria Mullova, and Kim Kashkashian. His recording of the solo piano works of Delius for DTR recordings has been widely praised. He has recorded for EMI Classics with violinist Sarah Chang, and Avie Recordings with Philadelphia Orchestra principal flutist Jeffrey Khaner.  He has also recorded works of Milton Babbitt, Joseph Schwantner, Gunther Schuller and others for Albany Records, CRI, Bridge, and Naxos. He is an active participant in the music life of Philadelphia, including numerous performances with Network for New Music, Orchestra 2001, and the Dolce Suono Ensemble. He is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, the Peabody Conservatory, and received a DMA from Temple University.  His teachers have included Natalie Phillips, Eleanor Sokoloff, Leon Fleisher, and Harvey Wedeen.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Delaware Chamber Music Festival will extend and increase interest in classical music in Delaware by bringing to the public top quality chamber music performances at an affordable cost to attendees. Offerings will include chamber music concerts plus outreach programs for families and younger audiences, and will feature innovative mixes of traditional and contemporary classical music.
